Dr. Loren Borud: More Than Just A Plastic Surgeon
Years of experience and practice have made Dr. Loren Borud one of the most successful plastic surgeons in Boston. He specializes in a broad array of plastic surgery procedures, including breast enhancements and reductions, liposuction, tummy tuck and body contouring. However, what really made him one successful plastic surgeon are not the many surgical operations he had performed in the past, but also the great contributions he had made in this field of medicine.
Aside from providing service to some of the country’s most prestigious hospitals and clinics, Dr. Borud has also served the educational sector by teaching and sharing his knowledge to students and even his fellow surgeons. He worked at the University of California Los Angeles not just as a resident general surgeon, but also as a teacher to residents and medical students. He also became assistant professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School where he earned international recognition in the field of body contouring after massive weight loss. He has conducted extensive lectures at major plastic surgery society meetings both here and abroad.
Adding to Dr. Borud’s long line of achievements and contributions to the industry is the recently-launched “Plastikonomics: What I Learned as a Harvard Plastic Surgeon,” a book that reflects his views about the healthcare industry, particularly on the field of plastic surgery. Furthermore, he was the editor-in-chief of a Cinemed publication entitled “Atlas of Body Contouring after Massive Weight Loss,” and has authored numerous book chapters and over 30 scientific publications.
Dr. Loren Borud continues to share his knowledge and expertise in the field of plastic surgery by establishing his own firm, Borud Consulting, which aims to provide consulting services to various surgery-related product companies on different marketing aspects, including web design, marketing innovation as well as strategies and product development. The firm also aims to advise biotechnology companies and private equities on how to better expand their investments.
