Dr. Loren Borud Unveils the Mystery of Plastic Surgery in His New Book
Dr. Loren Borud is an internationally-acclaimed plastic surgeon based in Boston, Massachusetts. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery and worked as full-time instructor in plastic surgery at Harvard Medical School for eight years. In medicine practice, Dr. Borud specializes in aesthetic surgery and body contouring, and has performed such procedures for more than 20 years.
For several years, Dr. Borud worked at various prestigious hospitals in the U.S., including UCLA Medical Center, Martin Luther King Jr./ Drew Medical Center West and Los Angeles VA Hospital. He was most recently affiliated with Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, as the program director of the center’s Fellowship in Body Contouring Surgery for eight years.
Dr. Borud has not only proven his expertise in various surgical operations inside a hospital facility. He has also shared his knowledge in a new book that will help people better understand the concept and economics of plastic surgery. His dedication to the industry for over 20 years has given him sufficient knowledge and information to write a book entitled “Plastikonomics: What I Learned as a Harvard Plastic Surgeon.”
The book sums up information about how plastic surgery really works, how the field is coping with the technology and how it responds to governmental and cultural forces. It also discusses why most patients tend to go overseas just to get some parts of their body enhanced, as well as the reasons why the cost for plastic surgery is bound to decrease in the future.
But what’s interesting about this book is that it does not only discuss plastic surgery from the patient’s perspective. Dr. Borud was also able to include the views and insights of many plastic surgeons on the different aspects of aesthetic surgery.
Doctors, businessmen, current and future patients, surgery students and even ordinary people interested in plastic surgery can unravel the mystery by checking out Dr. Loren Borud’s new book.
